This also serves as a reminder to advocate for every worker\u2019s rights to proper justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From highly skilled and educated professionals to even street vendors, every worker helps the progress of Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"whydowecelebratelabourdayinpakistan\">\u270a Why Do We Celebrate Labour Day in Pakistan?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1972, Labour Day in Pakistan was first initiated. **Specifically**, the government in that year called for the first of May to be celebrated as a national holiday. These celebrations were aimed at acknowledging and promoting social development along with equity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indeed, the movement is not only for the citizens of Pakistan, but also aims to connect Pakistan to a larger goal. Specifically, this marks the day where many countries come together to advocate for workers and their rights, allowing Pakistan to join in on the call for social dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"overviewoflabourdayshistory\">\ud83d\udcdc Overview of Labour Day\u2019s History<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At that time, workers in America wanted to have their working hours limited to eight hours a day. Consequently, to achieve this, they went on strike and marched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>1886<\/strong>, a peaceful rally in Chicago turned into a riot. Many workers died. Over the years, Labour Day became recognised globally.
